Shehnaaz Gill is basking in praise for her performance in Ikk Kudi, marking her return to Punjabi cinema after four years. Besides her professional life, she has been making headlines for her personal life. The actress recently opened up about her past relationship, admitting that she once betrayed her ex-boyfriend. Shehnaaz revealed she doesn't know whether she will get married or not, but wants to secure her future. The actress also shared that she has always believed in financial equality in relationships, even though men around her have been offended by this belief.
In a recent interview with the SMTV YouTube channel, when Shehnaaz was asked about betrayals in a relationship or if she has ever betrayed anyone, in response, she said, “I have. In love. Not otherwise. I only did it because the vibe wasn’t matching. When you expect something from someone, and they don’t meet those expectations… I have those expectations. I can’t just keep on giving. I believe in give and take. So when such things happen, I call it off because you can’t invest so much in someone else. Because then you are wasting your time.”
Revealing her expectations from her partner, she stated, “A woman wants to be loved in exchange for love. If someone can’t love you, then what’s the point?. I want my partner to be understanding, open minded, independent. They should give me space. We should be able to show our work to each other, appreciate it together. We should be able to talk to each other without our phones. We should be able to travel together.”

Shehnaaz also revealed how she believes in sharing finances, and some men find it offensive, saying it hurts their male ego. She added, “All the relationships that I have been in, I have always believed in sharing. Like if we are on a vacation, we split the bills in half. The actor shared that some men find this offensive and said that this hurts their male ego. Men have a problem with this. They feel, ‘Why your money? I can just spend my money’. I wonder why? Is it because they’re insecure that a woman can pay for herself? I am very particular about these things. I know that I have no one who can look after me financially. I don’t know if I will get married or not. So I just want to save for myself, my future, take care of my health, I also have to take care of my family members so I have to work as long as I can."
