Brazilian model and actress Larissa Bonesi, rumoured to be dating Aryan Khan, has found herself unexpectedly caught in a political storm. Her Instagram account has been flooded with thousands of comments after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent press conference on the alleged ‘vote chori’ in the Haryana elections. During his speech, Gandhi claimed that a Brazilian model’s photograph appeared multiple times across voter lists in the state, under various Indian names like Seema, Sweety, and Saraswati. However, the internet quickly identified that model as Larissa Bonesi, sparking widespread confusion and amusement online.
Soon after the press conference went viral, Indian social media users rushed to Larissa Bonesi’s Instagram, leaving hundreds of humorous and curious comments on her recent posts. Many congratulated her for her “newfound fame in India”, while others joked about her being a “voter from Brazil” or sarcastically welcomed her to Indian politics. Comments like “Rahul Gandhi ne famous kar diya” (Rahul Gandhi made you famous) and “Congratulations on Indian citizenship” were among the most liked ones. Some even shared memes and GIFs featuring Rahul Gandhi himself. Despite the attention, Larissa Bonesi has not responded to the comments.

Interestingly, the confusion seems to have started because of another Brazilian model named Larissa Nery, who later confirmed that she was the woman in the photo shown by Rahul Gandhi. Nery shared screenshots from the press conference and posted a video clarifying the situation. In the video, she said, “They are using an old photo of mine from when I was 18 or 20. I don’t know what this is about, but it’s crazy that they’re portraying me as an Indian.” However, many Indians mistook Larissa Bonesi, who is far more popular in India, for Nery.

Who Is Larissa Bonesi?
Larissa Bonesi has been working in India for over a decade. She has appeared in several Indian films, including Go Goa Gone (2013), Thikka (2016), Rocket Raja (2017), and most recently Ghaati (2025). Over the past year, she has made headlines for her rumoured relationship with Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She was also seen at the launch of Aryan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, earlier this year, further fuelling dating rumours.
