Pratibha Ranta Shares Her Magical Experience Of Working in SLB’s Heeramandi After Aamir Khan’s Laapataa Ladies; Says ‘Experienced Different World’

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Pratibha Ranta is the new sensational star in Bollywood after her phenomenal performances onscreen this year. The actress, who starred in Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies and SLB's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is currently on cloud nine with their success. The rising star recently shared that there was a similarity between the characters she played on screen. Pratibha portrayed the role of Jaya in Laapataa Ladies, who was a highly ambitious girl but was forced to get married against her wishes. On the other hand, she played Shama in Heeramandi, a beautiful stubborn girl and the daughter of Waheeda (played by Sanjeeda Sheikh). 

In an interview with Indian Express, Pratibha said “It was a very magical experience. When I went to shoot for Heeramandi, I was able to experience a different world. There was a big set in Heeramandi, and the approach of both characters was so different for me. Jaya is a little reserved. She thinks a lot before taking action. But she is watching. She has four eyes because she is doing something like this. So all that I used to keep in mind when I was preparing for Jaya’s character.”

“But somewhere, in both, the bottom line, it was the same emotion to get that freedom that I have to do what I have to do,” she added.
