Vivek Oberoi made his acting debut with the 2002 movie Company. The actor got instant fame with his movies like Saathiya, Masti, Kaal, Yuva and Dum to name a few. But his life changed after he received threatening calls from the underworld. The actor also revealed that he faced challenging situations in both his personal and professional life. Vivek also talked about his feud with Salman Khan and stated that it was a rash, emotional decision made him when he was young. He further mentioned that Khan did not forgive him for the same. 

In an interview with Dr Jai Madaan for his YouTube channel, Vivek said “There was a time when I entered a conflict zone in my career, and because of that, I faced a lot of financial strain. I was very stressed. I would get calls from the underworld. I would get threats. And I’d never experienced anything like this in my life. All of this happened together.” 

The actor continued, “It was an emotional response. I was very young. I understood the repercussions and consequences of my actions much later. I was fine with dealing with the consequences of my actions, but I was bothered when my parents were threatened. My dad would pick up the phone, and someone would threaten him; my mother would answer the phone, and someone would threaten her. I was scared for my sister. Initially, we thought that they were prank calls. But later, the police confirmed that the threats were very real.” 

On the work front, Vivek Oberoi will be next seen in L2: Empuraan. The Malayalam stars Caroline Koziol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mohanlal, Saniya Iyappan, Eriq Ebouaney and Manju Warrier in significant roles. It has been directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film will be released in theatres on March 27, 2025.
