YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before the Assam Police on March 7 amid the ongoing investigation regarding his controversial remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show. The Guwahati Police questioned the star for over four hours. In a recent viral video, Ranveer can be seen escorted by a couple of police officers up a flight of stairs. Some pushing and pulling seem to be involved. The YouTuber reached Guwahati on Thursday night and appeared before the Crime Branch, who interrogated for seven hours, He was then accompanied by his advocate.

In India’s Got Latent show, Ranveer Allahbadia jokingly asked a question to a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”
After the incident, Ranveer Allahbadia shared an apology video on Instagram, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate. It wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I’m gonna use my platform, and obviously, this is not how I’m gonna use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning for whatever happened, I am just here to offer an apology. I’m just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”
However, even after the apology, the star got into legal trouble and has been managing with the legal battles. Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija also appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) a few days ago. NCW chief Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar said, “Ranveer told the panel that he could not reverse what happened, but he’d act with caution in future. I condemn the kind of statements made, we took suo motu cognisance keeping in view the social impact of such statements. We have told them that the kind of statements used, we can proceed against you.”
