Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Namma Yatri on Friday launched a new feature in its application to provide conveniences to the metro commuters of the city. While providing details, the firm stated that the 'Namma Transit' feature will help the commuters in real time. The feature will provide several information, including train timings, nearest metro stations, and other details. The firm further stated that the feature will unify metro, auto, and cab journeys into one app experience. It further stated that the feature will promote public transport among the residents of the city, as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is planning to expand the metro services in the city.

The firm stated that the feature will provide several key details, including which platform and gate to use, when to switch modes, and tracks both metro and auto. "Namma Transit becomes your personal transit assistant. It shows which metro station to head to, which platform and gate to use, when to switch modes, and tracks both metro and auto in real time. Whether it’s a countdown for the next train, directions on station exits, or smart nudges to alight at the right stop, the entire journey is in the commuter’s control,” Namma Yatri was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald.

Namma Yatri co-founders Magizhan Selvan and Shan MS stated that the aim behind introducing new changes is to promote public transport among the residents of the city. “Mobility should feel like magic, not a daily grind. With Namma Transit, we’ve designed every element, from booking to alerts - to make public transport the first choice. This is our contribution to a Bengaluru that moves with speed, efficiency, and trust,” the founders stated while providing details.

While the feature is only available to the selected commuters for now, the others will be able to access the features in the upcoming weeks.
