In a spine-chilling incident in Bengaluru, a woman was physically attacked, abused, dragged, and allegedly molested by the brother of her landlord in front of her apartment, the police informed. An FIR was lodged against the accused following her complaint. The 26-year-old woman, who originally belonged to West Bengal, alleged that Manjunath Gowda, the accused, assaulted her at Planet Vista Apartments in the Sanjay Nagar region. 

The accused in her complaint said that the man started abusing her when she went to the apartment gate to collect a parcel on the night of December 3. She further said that she ignored him initially, but he kept on abusing her and suddenly came close to her and assaulted her, hitting her on the forehead and also grabbing her neck tightly. The accused also stated that the man seemed to be intoxicated at the time of the incident.

She said that he slapped the woman after the verbal argument and choked her, which led to breathlessness. “Soon after the verbal argument, he slapped me and choked me to the extent where! could not breathe at all, while pinning me to the wall,” the victim narrated in her complaint, India Today reported. The 26-year-old also accused Gowda of biting her finger and attempting to drag her into his house when she tried to escape from the scene. The girl said that the violent acts from the accused led to multiple injuries. 

“He also tried pulling me into his house, and that's when I started screaming, and I ran towards my flat. He also followed me and stopped me midway in the staircase and started hitting me more aggressively,” the complaint further added. However, she managed to escape with the help of some others who intervened to stop the attacker.

She also mentioned in her complaint that the accused was peeping through her window the next morning. He reportedly threatened to enter her home and abused her when she objected. The police have started the probe into the matter after the victim lodged the complaint.
