"GS Bhatia, a student of Loughborough University, has been missing since Dec 15. Last seen in Canary Wharf, East London. Bringing to the kind attention of @DrSJaishankar Ji We urge @lborouniversity & @HCI_London to join efforts in locating him. Your assistance is crucial. The incident came days after the body of a 23-year-old Indian student was discovered in the Thames River in London. Mitkumar Patel arrived in London for his higher studies in September and has been missing since November 17.

An appeal to raise funds for Patel was also made as his father was a small farmer.

"Mitkumar Patel was a 23-year (old) boy who came to the UK for higher studies on 19th September 2023. He belonged to a farmer family and used to live in a village as well. He was missing from November 17, 2023. Now on November 21, police found his dead body from Canary Wharf in the water. It was sad for all of us. So, we decided to do fundraising for helping out his family and to send his body to India as well,” reads the fundraising appeal.

As per reports, over GBP 4,500 have been raised since last week.
