President Droupadi addresses a joint session of Parliament on Wednesday ahead of the Interim Budget. Speaking in the new parliament, Droupadi Murmu talked on several subjects, including Ram temple, Inflation, Poverty, Women Empowerment, Defence, Article 370 and others. 

She said, "In the last 10 years, India saw the completion of several works towards national interest that had been awaited by the people of the country for decades. The construction of Ram Temple was awaited for centuries. Today, it has become a reality. Abrogation of Article 370 from J&K is history now."

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the interim budget on Thursday, February 1.

According to the agenda set by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, proceedings will commence half an hour after the President's address. The Secretary Generals of both Houses will lay a copy of the President's address on the table.

Obituary references will be made to ex-MPs Bhadreshwar Tanti, Sonawane Pratap Narayanrao in Lok Sabha, and Hari Shankar Bhabhra, Shrimati Sushree Devi in the Upper House.

During the session, Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu will present the seventh report of the Committee of Privileges, while Rajya Sabha MPs Anil Jain and GK Vasan will present the seventy-sixth report of the Committee of Privileges concerning a breach of privilege against 11 Members.

Ahead of the Interim Budget Session, the Central government, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, held a meeting with political party floor leaders on Tuesday.

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, stated that the session may conclude on February 9, featuring discussions on the Interim Union Budget for 2024-25, the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, and essential legislative and other business.

Supplementary Demands for Grants for the Year 2023-24 for the Union Government and discussions on the Interim Budget of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for 2024-25 will also be on the agenda.

The Central government on Tuesday held a meeting under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with floor leaders of political parties ahead of the Interim Budget Session of the Parliament.

Attended by 45 leaders from 30 political parties, the meeting concluded with gratitude for the raised concerns and the commitment to parliamentary collaboration. The minister sought active cooperation from all party leaders for the smooth functioning of Parliament.

Additionally, the suspension of ministers from the Parliament was also revoked.
