Chhattisgarh News: A newborn died, and more than 30 passengers sustained injuries after a private bus overturned in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district on Sunday, police said.The accident occurred near the Lalkhadan flyover under Torwa police station limits here when the bus was heading to Sarangarh town from Bilaspur city around 11 am, an official said.

As per ASP Umesh Kashyap, on Sunday afternoon, a private bus was going to Sarangarh from Bilaspur bus stand. When the bus full of passengers had reached near Lalkhadan Overbridge, a bike rider came in front of the bus. While trying to save the bike rider, the bus went out of control and went off the road. The speeding bus collided with a pole and overturned.

Dukhiraam (27) Yadav, a resident of Amora Khaparapara under Mulmula police station of Janjgir-Champa region, was also travelling in the bus along with his wife Rajeshwari Yadav (25) and newborn child. Dukhiraam's newborn child died in the accident. The police have seized the bus and information about the bus driver is being collected.

After the accident, the people from the nearby areas quickly took out the passengers trapped in the bus and informed the police about the accident. By the time the police reached the spot, people had already taken out the passengers trapped in the bus. With the help of the police, the injured were sent to the hospital.

ASP Kashyap further informed that on receiving information about the accident, police and SDRF team reached the spot. The injured people have been admitted to different hospitals. Many people were discharged late in the evening. At the same time, some people are still undergoing treatment. About seven injured were brought to Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS). Everyone is currently out of danger.

Those injured in the incident include - Jageshwar Yadav (55) resident of Sipat, Gajju Prasad Sahu (33), Faguram Yadav (34) resident of Devrikhurd, Munni Bai Kashyap (50), Brihaspati Kashyap (25), Guddi Kashyap (50) all residents of Mulmula, Chanda Nishad (23) resident of Pamgarh were admitted to the SIMS Hospital. Naveen Anant (24) resident of Rewapar Sarangarh, Pramila Kewat (36) resident of Rahoud, Devkumar Sahu (14), Mamta Sahu (34), Rahul Sahu (08) all residents of Devridih, Dwarika Vishwakarma (35) and Yaduveer Singh (28) resident of Mainpuri, UP.
