In a tragic incident, a third-year college student in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the third floor of his college in the Dwarkapuri region. The police stated that the incident took place on Saturday, and the deceased's social media posts suggest that his mental state was not in a good condition.
The officials stated that the deceased, in one of his last social media posts, had described himself as a failed student and a failed son.
"This is an incident of the Dwarkapuri police station area where a boy named Mayur Rajput, who was a BSc third-year student, jumped from the third floor of the college and committed suicide from there. Right now, we are investigating the reason. So far, it has been found that he had posted something on his social media status in which he had written that neither could I become a good student nor a good son. He has done something like this in his mental state," Additional DCP Zone 4 Anand Yadav was quoted as saying by ANI.
He further assured that the police are currently investigating the case, adding that they are trying to gather more information of the deceased. "We are investigating the rest. In the investigation, all these things will be discussed with the family members, and once all the talks are done, everything will be clear. He is a third-year student, so his age will be between 19-20 years," Yadav further said.
In a similar incident, a 20-year-old student of engineering in Goa died by suicide. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) student on the KK Birla campus had celebrated his birthday on March 3 and died by suicide the next day. The police stated that the deceased's body was found in his hostel room on Wednesday.
