Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport is to get a police booth as the inauguration will take place on Saturday, April 5. This booth will be inaugurated by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena in the presence of Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora.
The launch of this new facility will provide air passengers with quick assistance and a facility to lodge complaints in criminal cases. The new smart police booth aims to provide bolstered security to passengers, making their related work convenient and feasible. Now, passengers will not have to go to the IGI police station with their grievances and could lodge their complaints at the smart police booth. Along with the facility of registering e-FIR at the booth, complaints related to economic and cyber crimes can also be registered.
The new booth, equipped with modern technologies, aims to resolve issues on an immediate basis. Scores of domestic and international passengers using Terminal 3 will now get their issues solved on the spot in all possible cases.
A report by Jagran.com quoted Harpal Rana praising the initiative. He said that this is an important step by the Delhi Police, which will improve the experience of passengers. The opening of this booth will not only increase security, but will also strengthen the trust of passengers in the police, the report added, citing Rana as saying.
Earlier, passengers encountering criminal issues at IGI Airport had to take a lengthy detour to access the nearest police station. International passengers often encounter the most difficulties, and this development will greatly alleviate their experience, providing significant convenience.
