Jacqueline Fernandez Money Laundering Case: The Delhi High Court on Thursday declined the actress Jacqueline Fernandez's plea to quash FIR against her in Rs 200 crore money laundering case linked to jailed conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The development comes after the Bollywood actor had approached the High Court seeking to quash the FIR against her in the ED's money laundering case in December 2023.

Justice Anish Dayal dismissed her plea, which also sought to quash the second supplementary chargesheet of the Enforcement Directorate in the case and proceedings pending in a Delhi trial court. The ED counsel opposed the petition on the ground of maintainability, saying a special court had taken cognisance of the prosecution complaint (chargesheet) and prima facie found a case. The cognisance order was not challenged, the counsel added.

What Are The Charges Against Her

Fernandez is an accused in the money laundering case lodged against Chandrasekhar and had appeared before the ED for questioning in the investigation. Delhi Police had booked Chandrasekhar for allegedly duping the spouses of former promoters of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh of Rs 200 crore.
There are other ongoing investigations against him in several cases across the country.

Chandrasekhar and his wife Leena Paulose, facing proceedings in a money laundering case of the ED, were arrested by Delhi Police along with others. The police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case. Paulose and Chandrasekhar were alleged to have used hawala routes and created shell companies along with other accused persons to park the money earned as proceeds of crime.

Chandrasekhar's 'Love' Letter To Fernandez From Jail

Earlier in January, the actress received another letter from conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The conman sent his best wishes to the actress, whom he calls his girlfriend. He also talked about pulling off the biggest surprise so far. He wrote, "My Lady Love Jackie, My Botta Bomma, wish you a very Happy New Year. Baby girl, 2025, the year of 9. This is our year. The year where I am gonna, prove my love for you, and gonna pull out the biggest surprise ‘of’ and ‘for’ our love, before this world, who thinks I am obsessed, and our love is scary".

He continued, “There is no doubt that I am obsessed with you my baby, because I know you love me more because I have been always only obsessed with you and forever, as you always say. We are old school, and one has to be overly obsessed in love with your partner, if you really mean the word 'love' for that person. Doesn't matter what the world thinks, all that matters is about what you feel and you have”.
