The incident occurred one day after the Union Home Ministry's office received a bogus threat on Wednesday. Previously, Delhi-NCR schools and hospitals faced similar threats.
According to Delhi Police, the Police Control Room in North Block, which houses the Ministry of Home Affairs, received a bomb threat by mail. Two fire vehicles, a dog squad, and bomb disposal and detection teams were dispatched to the scene.
Three hotels in Bengaluru, Karnataka, including a five-star establishment, received bomb threats earlier on Thursday.
The sequence of events began on April 30 with a threat to Delhi's Chacha Nehru Hospital, and then on May 1 it spread to 150 schools. Threats against the schools came from a mailing service company with headquarters in Russia.
On May 12, a Cyprus-based mailing service company sent bomb threats via emails to twenty hospitals, the IGI Airport, and the CPRO office of Northern Railways in Delhi.
