With the farmers' protest gaining momentum once again, traffic has been severely impacted in parts of Delhi and Noida as preparations ramp up for the farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' march scheduled for Monday. This march, aimed at heading towards the Parliament complex, is organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) in collaboration with various other farmer organizations.

The protest is organised to bring together farmers from over 20 districts, who will march to press the central government to address their five main demands. These include the demand for compensation and other benefits related to agricultural reforms, particularly the legal guarantee of the long term Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue.

As a result of the ongoing protest, the Noida Police have increased security measures and carried out vehicle checks in anticipation of potential disruptions. They have also issued detailed traffic advisories to manage the situation and minimize inconvenience for commuters.

Visuals from the various parts of Delhi-NCR have shown heavy traffic buildup, particularly at the Chilla Border and the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) flyover, where long queues of vehicles have been spotted. Reports indicate that vehicles are barely moving, with all lanes on the DND at a standstill due to police barricades and security checks.

To help commuters navigate the traffic chaos, the Noida Police have recommended several alternate routes:

- Chilla Border to Greater Noida: Use the Sector 14-A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhunjhupura Chowk.

- DND Border to Delhi: Follow the Film City flyover, Sector-18, and the Elevated Road.

- Kalindi Border to Delhi: Take the Mahamaya flyover and Sector-37.

- Greater Noida to Delhi: Proceed via Charkha roundabout, Kalindi Kunj, or Hajipur underpass via Sector-51 and Model Town.

- Yamuna Expressway: Exit at Jewar toll and continue through Khurja and Jahangirpur.

- Peripheral Expressway Traffic: Use the Dadri or Dasna exits instead of Sirsa.

In addition to these advisories, the Delhi-Noida Police have set up strict checks at all borders to monitor traffic flow. Authorities have also increased security across the national capital, with vehicle inspections taking place at key checkpoints.

Earlier this year, in October, Sarwan Singh Pandhair, General Secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC), confirmed that farmers protesting at the Shambhu border would march towards Delhi on December 6 to demand a legal guarantee for MSP and other key issues related to the agricultural sector.

Farmers from Uttar Pradesh are set to protest for a similar march from Noida to the Parliament complex in Delhi, where the Winter Session of Parliament is currently underway. The farmers are hoping their protest will prompt the government to take action on their demands for better compensation and reforms in the agricultural sector.

The upcoming protest has heightened security and the diversion of routes in Delhi-NCR, as Police authorities are working to manage the expected disruptions.
