Indian Railways is preparing to launch the Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express in the coming days, expanding its network of affordable long-distance services. The upcoming non-AC train will pass through five states, Assam, Nagaland, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, strengthening connectivity across eastern and northern India.

The Amrit Bharat Express services are designed to offer cost-effective, comfortable and reliable travel, particularly catering to passengers from lower and lower-middle income groups.

10 Amrit Bharat Express Trains Operate Through Bihar

These include routes connecting Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Terminal, Saharsa-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari-Anand Vihar Terminal, Darbhanga-Gomti Nagar, Malda Town-Gomti Nagar, Sitamarhi-Delhi, Gaya-Delhi, Jogbani-Erode and Saharsa-Cheharta.

In addition, another Amrit Bharat Express service runs between Malda Town in West Bengal and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express: Route, Timings And Key Details

Indian Railways is set to operate the Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express under train number 15949, while the return service from Gomti Nagar to Dibrugarh will run as train number 15950. The train will connect Assam with Uttar Pradesh, passing through major junctions such as Barauni, Hajipur, and Gorakhpur.

Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express: Stoppages En Route

On its journey, the Amrit Bharat Express will halt at 40 stations across multiple states. These include Mornhat, Simaluguri, Mariani, Furkating, Dimapur, Diphu, Lumding, Hojai, Chaparmukh, Jagi Road, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangiya, Nalbari, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi, Katihar, Naugachia, Khagaria, Begusarai, Barauni, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Siwan, Deoria Sadar, Gorakhpur, Khalilabad, Basti, Mankapur, Ayodhya, Ayodhya Cantt, and Barabanki.

Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express: Service Frequency And Coach Composition

The train will operate once a week. The 15949 service will depart from Dibrugarh every Friday, while 15950 will leave Gomti Nagar on Sundays. The rake will consist of 22 coaches, designed to offer improved comfort for long-distance travelers.

Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express: Timetable Highlights

According to the schedule, train 15949 will depart Dibrugarh at 9:00 PM on Friday and reach Gomti Nagar at 1:30 PM on Sunday. The return train 15950 will start from Gomti Nagar at 6:40 PM on Sunday and arrive back in Dibrugarh at 12:40 PM on Tuesday.

Five New Amrit Bharat Express Trains to Operate via Bihar

Indian Railways is set to introduce five new Amrit Bharat Express services through Bihar later this month, significantly boosting long-distance rail connectivity between eastern and northern India. The new trains are expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, while the Railway Ministry is yet to issue the complete operational schedule and route details.
