The police have registered a case against the principal of a private school in Rindhana village for allegedly forcing a Class 5 student to clean the classroom as punishment for not completing her homework. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, and the authorities have taken swift action.

Class-5 Student Made To Mop Floor

According to the complaint filed by the student's mother, the principal, Ekta Sangwan, forced her daughter to clean the classroom on August 29 after she failed to complete her homework due to a fever. The student was allegedly humiliated in front of her classmates and was asked to shout, 'shame on me.' The principal also threatened to cut the student's hair if she didn't complete her homework in the future.

Police Is Investigating Matter

The Block Education Officer conducted an investigation and found the allegations to be true. Based on the investigation report and the student's mother's complaint, the police registered a case against the principal under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The case has been registered at the Baroda police station.

Human Rights Commission Takes Cognisance

The Haryana Human Rights Commission has taken cognisance of the matter and has asked the authorities to submit a detailed report on the institutional and legal action taken in the case. The Commission has given a deadline of October 28 for the police commissioner and the district education officer to submit their reports.

The student has reportedly suffered mental trauma and has been advised to change schools. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students in schools and the need for a more supportive and nurturing environment.
