Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh, accompanied by his wife, graced the festive celebrations at the Sahasrabdi Durga Puja Committee in Gurugram on Wednesday, joining devotees in the vibrant festivities.
The Governor's visit was a highlight of the ongoing Durga Puja festival in Sector 39. He was warmly welcomed by the organising committee and took part in the morning rituals, offering prayers to the idol of Goddess Durga on Maha Navami. His presence added to the festive fervour at the pandal, which was bustling with community members and visitors.
The Sahasrabdi Durga Puja Committee is known for keeping its rituals authentic while also showcasing cultural performances, food stalls, and community activities. For many long-time residents, the pandal has become a festive landmark in the city, marking the arrival of Durga Puja season.
This year marks a significant milestone for the Sahasrabdi Durga Puja, as it celebrates its 26th anniversary. Regarded as one of the oldest and most prominent Durga Pujas in Gurugram, it has become a cultural cornerstone for the city's residents.
The five-day festival, which celebrates the victory of good over evil, will continue with a host of cultural events before concluding with the traditional idol immersion ceremony.
