Hemant Soren Bail: Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren stepped out of Ranchi Jail on Friday, hours after he was granted bail by the High Court in a money laundering case, allegedly connected to a land scam. In his first public appearance since the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader was sent to jail, Soren was seen in a bushy, white beard holding a Gamchha on his shoulder. Wearing a white Kurta-Pajama, Soren was seen greeting his supporters with hands folded in the air on his arrival at the Ranchi's Birsa Munda jail gate.
The emotionally charged JMM supporters welcomed their leader by raising slogans in his support. After being received by his wife Kalpana Soren, he left the jail premises for his residence in the capital city.
During his release a huge security deployment was witnessed outside the Ranchi jail, reported Dainik Jagran.

Steps Out Of Jail After 5 Months
The executive president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Soren, was arrested on January 31 in connection to a money laundering probe about a land scam. A local court had sent Soren to ED remand on February 2. The case mainly pertains to Hemant Soren's 8.86-acre plot in Ranchi, which ED alleged the former CM acquired illegally. The investigation kicked in after Jharkhand police filed multiple FIRs in land scam cases, accusing several people, including some government officials.
After a legal battle as far as the Supreme Court, the defending counsels succeeded in securing bail for him on Friday.

"Bail has been granted to Soren. The court has held that prima facie he is not guilty of the offence and there is no likelihood of the petitioner committing an offence when on bail," Soren's senior counsel Arunabh Chowdhury told PTI.
