Army Hospital (Research And Referral), also known as Army Hospital (R&R), is the armed forces' premier medical care facility, where personnel associated with the armed forces and their family members receive treatment.
Earlier in January thai year, AIIMS Bhubaneswar also launched a drone service for the delivery of medicines, and other essential items. The drone carried one unit of blood for a needy patient at the Tangi Community Health Centre (CHC) in the Khurda district, covering a distance of 60 kilometres in just 35 minutes.
The drone reportedly transported one unit of blood from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to Tangi CHC for transfusion in an anaemic pregnant woman. This marked the first-ever drone-assisted blood delivery not only in Odisha but across the country, the institute said in a statement.
