IndiGo Flight Cancellation: IndiGo on Friday, December 26, began issuing travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 for passengers affected by the operational crisis that caused massive disruptions in operations in the first week of December. Passengers whose flights were cancelled 24 hours before their scheduled departure will receive compensation between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 in line with the rules of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The compensation amount will vary depending on the flight’s block time.
According to IndiGo officials, the travel will be valid for a duration of 12 months and can be used for any IndiGo flight. The vouchers will be issued to passengers from specific flights that were identified as being impacted by the disruption.
The airline also said that the refund process for cancelled flights is already underway, with the majority of impacted travellers having already been reimbursed. The airline assured that any remaining payments will be issued in the near future. Additionally, this recovery process extends to customers who secured their bookings via third-party travel agencies or digital booking sites.
How To Claim These Vouchers?
Passengers can claim these vouchers through the following process:
Direct Bookings: If you booked via the IndiGo website or app, the airline will generally contact you directly via your registered email or SMS. Payouts for these bookings started from December 26, 2025.
Third-Party Bookings (OTAs): If you booked through agents like MakeMyTrip, EaseMyTrip, or Goibibo, you must email customer.experience@goindigo.in immediately with your PNR number and contact details. Additionally, IndiGo is coordinating with these partners to obtain passenger contact information to fast-track this process.
Verification: Some passengers may be required to upload proof of delay, such as photos/videos or PNR details, through the IndiGo app's help section.
Once all the passengers are identified, the airline will start the disbursement process directly to the passengers.
