Jaipur Crash News: A CCTV footage surfaced from Jaipur has revealed chilling moments before the horrific accident in the Harmada area that left 14 people dead and several others critically injured on Monday. The video shows a speeding dumper truck losing control and crashing into a motorbike before ploughing through vehicles and pedestrians on Loha Mandi Road.

The footage captures the dumper racing at a dangerously high speed down the busy stretch, unable to stop as it mowed down everything in its path. Within seconds, it smashed into cars, motorbikes and people before overturning due to the impact.

According to police, the accident occurred when the dumper, allegedly driven recklessly and suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, came hurtling from Road No. 14 towards the Loha Mandi petrol pump. It rammed into at least 17 vehicles, including scooters, cars and a trailer truck, leaving the area in chaos.

Jaipur District Collector Jitendra Soni confirmed that 14 people lost their lives and around 10 others were hospitalised with severe injuries at SMS Hospital’s trauma centre. “The injured are being treated, and several remain in critical condition,” he said.

Additional Police Commissioner Rajiv Pachar stated that the truck driver first hit a car and when bystanders tried to stop him, he accelerated further, hitting more vehicles before losing control completely.

Driver Nabbed By Locals After Overturning Truck

Locals chased the dumper and managed to catch the driver after the vehicle overturned. He was handed over to the police and has been taken for medical examination to determine if he was drunk at the time of the crash.

Jaipur Crash: Victims Details

Among the victims were members of a family from Agra returning from Khatushyamji, including two women and a child. Another victim, a Jaipur-based weaver named Mahendra, died along with his five-year-old niece, while another niece remains critically injured.

Truck Was Travelling At Over 100 Kmph, Say Officials

Officials said the dumper was travelling at over 100 kmph when it lost control. The accident site has since been cleared and damaged vehicles have been removed as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
