State Bureau, Ranchi: Hundreds of students and student organisations may kickstart a protest to surround the Jharkhand Vidha Sabha on the lines of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest march to Parliament on August 6 to protest the alleged irregularities and corruption in the examinations of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
According to information, the Jharkhand government has directed all districts to exercise special caution, vigilance, monitoring, and take necessary action.
The alert about the expected protest march was issued by the Jharkhand government's intelligence agency, the Special Branch, on July 28. The Special Branch has alerted the Deputy Commissioners of all districts, the SSPs of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad, and the Superintendents of all district and railway departments.
Intelligence agencies have information that the protesting students will travel to Ranchi from across the state by road and rail for this siege.
In its letter, the Special Branch stated that, in addition to the above irregularities, the agitating students are also protesting against the failure to provide scholarships on time, the lack of transparency in various competitive examinations, and the lack of a robust education system.
Satyagraha, padyatra and gherao
Notably, to press their demands, students have been staging an indefinite Satyagraha at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi since July 25.
These students have gathered under the banner of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Candidate Justice Forum.

As part of the movement, on July 29, students held a padyatra (marched) from Bapu Vatika in Morabadi to Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi, reading the Preamble of the Constitution and singing the National Anthem.
On July 30, a large number of students, united under the banner of AJSU Students' Union, marched from Bapu Vatika in Morabadi to Lok Bhavan.
