Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday reiterated that he will complete his full tenure, refuting the fresh claims of power reshuffle in the state. He issued the clarification after participating in the Dussehra celebration in Mysuru by further emphasising that the final decision will be taken by the high command of Congress. A major controversy sparked after some Congress leaders reportedly claimed that the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will replace Siddaramaiah in November. Earlier in June too, several reports emerged suggesting a possible rift between the two leaders; however, they have publicly promised loyalty towards the high command.

While talking to the reporters, Siddaramaiah asserted that he will remain the chief minister for next two and a half years. "I will be the chief minister for a full five-year term," he told the reporters. However, he clarified that the final decision on this issue will be taken by party's high command. "Whatever the high command decides, we have to go by it," he added. Congress former MP LR Shivarame Gowda stated that the party's top leadership should provide clarity on the issue.

"There's no doubt about Shivakumar eventually becoming chief minister, but the final decision rests with the high command. They understand how to manage the party and balance both the chief minister and the deputy chief minister. In the end, hard work always pays off," Gowda was quoted as saying by NDTV. However, several other senior leaders, including Home Minister G Parameshwara stated that the chief minister will complete his full term.

"Neither Chief Minister Siddaramaiah nor state Congress president and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar mentioned anything about it. I do not know of any internal understanding between them," Parameshwara stated. Earlier in June too, Siddaramaiah had clarified that he will complete his full term as the chief minister.
