Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness cold waves and dense fog for the next few days. The weather department also stated that some regions are also set to receive light rain on December 31, leading to a further drop in temperature. While the residents are likely to witness clear skies for most parts of the days, dense fog is likely to trouble the commuters in the morning hours. The weather department emphasised that the minimum temperature remained unchanged in most of the districts on Friday. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly for the new year to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Chamarajanagara, Mysuru, and Shivamogga, are likely to witness light rain on December 31 and January 1. It further stated that the other districts, such as Ballari, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban), Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagara, are also set to witness a drop in temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.

The IMD further stated that the capital city, Bengaluru, is likely to witness clear skies till December 30; however, the tech city is likely to receive light rain from December 31. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 16 degrees Celsius. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several key regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters.
The weather department has also stated that the minimum temperature in several southern districts was recorded lower than normal. The coastal regions are also expected to witness light rain and gentle breezes, leading to waterlogging in the lower regions.
