- Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary accused in Ketan Agarwal's murder.
- Police believe Siya studied Raja Raghuvanshi case for planning.
- Accused showed no remorse during the ongoing investigation.
The investigation into the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken a chilling turn, with police suspecting that the accused may have drawn inspiration from the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case in Meghalaya.
Ketan Agarwal’s fiance Siya Goyal, and her alleged accomplice and boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, meticulously conspired for the murder, reportedly learned lessons from the Raja Raghuvanshi case, where his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is alleged to have plotted his murder.
According to an NDTV report, officials stated that although both cases involved victims being pushed off a cliff by their partners, the Pune murder appeared to have been planned with greater precision, making the investigation significantly more challenging.

No Signs Of Remorse, Say Investigators
Police claimed that both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have shown no remorse during the investigation. "At this point, both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have no regret about killing Ketan Agrawal and have not shown any signs of remorse," NDTV quoted an officer.
Similarities With Raja Raghuvanshi Case
Police believe the accused researched the Raja Raghuvanshi murder before allegedly executing their own plan. Officials state that the duo learned from Sonam Raghuvanshi's mistakes and tried to develop a better plan.
According to investigators, the browsing history recovered from Siya Goyal's mobile phone showed that she had searched for news reports related to the Meghalaya murder case.
The officials also found searches about whether women are thrashed in police custody and legal rights of women prisoners. The second mobile phone was recovered from the Goyal residence and has been sent for forensic investigation. Officials believe that the second mobile could provide additional clues.
It was alleged by the police that both Siya and Chetan had pushed Ketan off the cliff with a common intention that the strength of Siya alone might not be sufficient for the victim to fall into the gorge.

About Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case
Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, went to celebrate their honeymoon in Sohra, Meghalaya, in May 2025. However, the two suddenly disappeared on May 23, 2025. Following a search operation on June 2, 2025, Raja Raghuvanshi's body was recovered from a deep ravine.
The 25-year-old woman plotted the murder with her purported lover, Raj Kushwaha (an accountant at her brother's firm in Indore), to eliminate her husband and secure financial gain. The two hired three assailants, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi, who travelled from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to Meghalaya to execute the crime.
While visiting the Weisawdong Falls area in Sohra, Sonam reportedly signalled the start of the attack by acting exhausted and walking behind her husband. At her cue, the hired men attacked Raja from behind and hacked him to death using machetes.
After the murder, the group threw Raja's body into a deep gorge. Sonam and the assailants then fled the area, disposing of bloodstained raincoats and the hired vehicles.
