Bengaluru News: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has widened its advance reservation system to make ticket booking easier for passengers. Commuters can now reserve KSRTC bus tickets through Bengaluru-One and Karnataka-One service centres.

Where Passengers Can Book Tickets

Apart from the KSRTC website, mobile app and booking counters, tickets can now be booked at:

  • 161 Bengaluru-One centres across Bengaluru

  • 1,021 Karnataka-One centres located at district and taluk headquarters

The move has been implemented in partnership with the Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (EDCS).

Aim of the Initiative

KSRTC said the expansion is intended to improve convenience for travellers by offering more booking options, especially for those without easy access to online services.

In separate news, Bengaluru’s Namma Metro has moved a step closer to Phase 3 expansion, with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) inviting the first set of tenders for the project. The initial tenders cover three construction packages stretching over 18.58 km, with a projected cost of Rs 4,187.41 crore. Bids can be submitted until February 25, after which evaluations will begin.

Construction is expected to start in June and is planned to be completed by May 2031. Phase 3 includes two corridors,  a 32.3-km route along the Outer Ring Road from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura and a 12.15-km stretch from Hosahalli to Kadabagere on Magadi Road. A major feature is the long double-decker structure aimed at easing congestion. Once completed, the metro network will expand to 222 km with seven interchange stations.
