Jagran Correspondent, Madhya Pradesh: The identification of 12 fake doctors in the Sanjeevani clinics across the nine districts of Madhya Pradesh has sent shockwaves in the health department of the state. As per the reports, the Health and Medical Education Department is establishing a new system to identify similar professionals. The department has decided to verify the documents of all the currently appointed doctors to establish transparency. Apart from this, the documents of the newly appointed employees will also be verified in the coming days.
The reports also suggest that preparations are also underway to form a high-level committee to expedite the verification process. The committee will include officials from the higher education, health and medical education departments, and the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council. The officials stated that the formation of the committee will facilitate the document verification process.
As per the current system, the documents of the contract doctors are verified by the CMHOs of the respective districts. The identification of the fake doctors has raised questions on the verification process, as the documents remained unverified even after more than a year.
The relevant universities did not take any concrete action on time, leading to a delay in the verification process, the report added. The health department has issued a notice to the CMHOs, asking them to respond within a time frame. The degrees of all contract doctors, including those posted at Sanjeevani clinics across the state, are being verified in phases.

While providing details, the National Health Mission (NHM) officials stated that the documents of 81 doctors were verified after three fake doctors were found in Damoh.
