Madhya Pradesh: In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, a hospital employee allegedly pointed a gun at a medical officer after claiming he had not been paid his salary. A video of the confrontation has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and panic among staff and patients.
Following the incident, the hospital employee has been suspended, and police have initiated legal proceedings against him.
What Led To The Shocking Confrontation?
The man, identified as Manish Najgarh, is employed as a dresser, responsible for dressing wounds, cleaning sores, and preparing patients for surgery at a hospital in Kolaras tehsil.
In the viral video, Najgrah is seen approaching the Block Medical Officer (BMO), suddenly pulling out a gun and pointing it directly at the medical officer’s head. The incident triggered panic among staff and bystanders.
According to the police, Najgarh allegedly took this extreme step out of frustration over not receiving his salary for the past 12 months, holding the Block Medical Officer responsible for delay. This isn’t the first time Najgarh has drawn attention for his behaviour. He has previously gone viral for erratic conduct, including reports of consuming alcohol while on duty, NDTV quoted sources as saying.
Najgarh has been suspended from duty, and the police have initiated legal action against him. “The act of pointing a weapon at a senior officer is completely unacceptable and dangerous. The hospital employee has been suspended, and strict disciplinary and criminal action will follow,” an official from the district health office said.
District Chief Health Officer Sanjay Risheshwar refuted Najgarh’s allegations that he had not been salary for the past 12 months, calling it “baseless and fake.”
“His salary has been released on time till September 2025. The accusations are unfounded. We took immediate cognisance of the incident, and he has been suspended without delay,” he said.
