A horrific road accident occurred in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, where a moving bus caught fire, leading to chaos and panic among the passengers. Screams filled the bus as the fire erupted. Initial reports confirm that 16 passengers, including three children, have been seriously injured in the incident.
Following the tragic accident, a fire officer stated that 10 to 12 people are feared to have died. Many passengers suffered severe burns on their faces, hands, and feet and the condition of several injured individuals is reported to be critical.
Critically Injured Referred To Jodhpur
Local residents who rushed to the scene assisted in the rescue efforts. All the injured were initially taken to the Government Jawahar Hospital. Subsequently, those with critical injuries have been referred to a hospital in Jodhpur for advanced treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. Authorities are still working to determine the exact number of passengers who were on board at the time of the incident. District Collector Pratap Singh Nathawat and Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Shivhare are present at the scene. Fire brigade teams have successfully extinguished the blaze.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Monitors Situation
Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, has taken a briefing on the accident and is in contact with the district administration. The Chief Minister's Office is actively monitoring the situation, and the CM has directed officials to provide immediate relief to the victims.

Officials have alerted hospitals to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and have instructed the administration to expedite relief operations. The Chief Minister is also expected to visit the site of the accident.
