The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrates Vijayadashami festival across the country every year with its members organizing cultural events at the regional centres. The RSS also organizes a grand event in Nagpur, where the organization was formed in 1925. It also invites an eminent personality every year to attend the grand event and address the nation. The cultural event concludes with the address of the chief guest and RSS chief, who share their viewpoint on the key issues.
Dainik Jagran's Editor-in-Chief Sanjay Gupta will attend the Vijayadashami celebration this year as the chief guest of the event. Earlier, several prominent personalities, including former President Ram Nath Kovind, former ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan, mountaineer Santosh Yadav, Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, and renowned singer and musician Shankar Mahadevan have served as chief guests as well.
Mohan Bhagwat To Address Cadres
The event is scheduled to be held on October 20 and will begin with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat performing 'Shastra Pooja' at 7.40 am in Nagpur's Reshimbagh. This will be followed by a physical and slogan demonstration by the volunteers of the main centre of the organisation. In the later parts of the day, chief guest Gupta will address the crowd and the event will conclude with the address of Bhagwat.
The issues raised by the RSS chief in his address are considered crucial as it sets the blueprint for the functioning of the organization for the next 12 months. With a significant surge in the Sangh's popularity in the recent years, Bhagwat's address is observed by the civil societies, government, and foreign delegates.
