The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising a grand event in Delhi to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public life under the "Seva Jyoti" program at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex. Anticipating a large number of workers and vehicles for the event, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory.

The Delhi Traffic Police said that vehicular movement will be affected on several major roads in central and central-east Delhi from 5 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday.

As per the traffic advisory, the following routes may see diversions:

  • Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Jawaharlal Nehru Marg
  • Development route and IP route
  • Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road) and Salimgarh Bypass
  • Shantivan to Rajghat and part of Bhairon Marg
  • Geeta Colony Flyover to ITO and Yamuna Bridge

Moreover, traffic movement will be completely restricted on Secretariat Marg and Velodrome Road from 6 AM. Traffic police have urged people to avoid travelling on the affected roads during the said period.

Besides, parking of vehicles on and along these roads has been completely prohibited, and those in violation would face action.

The Seva Jyoti event will be attended by the Delhi BJP state president, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, several MPs, MLAs, senior party officials and workers. Workers from various mandals across the city are also expected to arrive at the stadium in rallies and processions.

PM offers prayers at Shri Vinayaka Temple 

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple as he completed his 25 years as head of government in Gujarat and at the Centre.

He has been continuously serving as head of government, first as Gujarat CM for three terms and subsequently as PM since 2014.

In a post on X, he said, "Performed puja and offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple in New Delhi today. Prayed to Lord Shri Ganesha for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of all my family members across the country."
