A shocking incident has emerged from Gujarat, where a fourth-grade student was allegedly assaulted by his school teacher and principal after passing a handwritten 'I love you' note to a female classmate. But what is even more shocking is that, the boy's parents reportedly attempted extortion by threatening police action after filing an physical assault case against the staff, initially demanding Rs 25 lakh.
The incident occurred on September 19 at an Ahmedabad school. According to NDTV, the female student handed the note to her teacher, explaining that the boy had tossed it to her. She was distressed, crying, and complaining of ongoing teasing and harassment by a group of boys during school hours.
Police Action and Extortion Claims
Shortly after the incident, Bright English School Director Indrajit Maurya stated that the classroom teacher, Seema Goswami, tore up the note, reprimanded the boy, and counseled him. Because the girl remained upset, the matter was taken to the principal, who contacted the student's mother.
Although the mother initially left after speaking with staff, she returned shortly afterward accompanied by relatives, claiming her child had suffered severe beatings and visible bruising. The family called an emergency ambulance, took the boy to LG Hospital for a medical examination, and subsequently approached police station.

The boy's family filed a formal complaint at the Ramol Police Station, accusing the management and staff of severe physical abuse. In response, police registered a case against both teacher Goswami and director Maurya.
Institute Denies Physical Assault
The school administration strongly denied the allegations of physical abuse. Maurya stated that CCTV footage clearly shows the boy leaving the administrative office in good health and running down the hallways.
"The claim that he was beaten black and blue is entirely false," Maurya said, adding that the school has nevertheless suspended teacher Goswami pending a full investigation to ensure transparency.
The school director further levied serious counter-allegations against the boy's family, claiming they attempted to extort money under the threat of police action.
"They initially demanded 25 lakhs to settle the matter without going to the police, which was later brought down to 5 lakhs," Maurya claimed.
However, he stated that while the school offered to waive the child's tuition fees to protect the institution's reputation, the boy's family refused.
Preliminary medical checks did not find any major physical injuries but police said officials were collecting CCTV footage, examining school records and recording statements from witnesses and students to investigate the case.
