- CNG prices increased in multiple Uttar Pradesh cities.
- Lucknow, Unnao, Agra see Rs 2 per kg hike.
- Ayodhya, Sultanpur witness highest Rs 3.25 rise.
CNG prices have been increased again in several cities of Uttar Pradesh, adding to the fuel burden on vehicle owners. In Lucknow, the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has increased by Rs 2 per kilogram with effect from October 3. The fuel will now cost Rs 107 per kilogram, up from Rs 105 per kilogram earlier.
CNG prices in Unnao have also been raised by Rs 2 per kilogram. The revised price is Rs 103.75 per kilogram, compared with the earlier rate of Rs 101.75 per kilogram. The new rates in Lucknow and Unnao came into effect on October 3.
In Agra, CNG prices will rise from Rs 105 to Rs 107 per kilogram from October 4.
The highest increase has been recorded in Ayodhya and Sultanpur, where CNG prices have gone up from Rs 101.75 to Rs 105 per kilogram. This represents an increase of Rs 3.25 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, the Nayara Energy which is country's largest private fuel retailer on Saturday also raised petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3 amid the ongoing war between the US and Iran. This move has been taken to reduce the gap between retail prices and the rising international cost of oil and refined products, reported news agency PTI.
Nayara Energy announced the hike reportedly due to the renewed pressure on the retailers due to the high international prices. The movement of cargo ships has remained disrupted since February, leading to a surge in energy prices across the world, especially the Asian nations. The surge in prices has also put extra pressure on the retailers, propelling them to increase the domestic prices.
The latest surge in prices is likely to cause inconvenience to the consumers as Nayara operates a total of 7,108 petrol pumps across the country. The firm has confirmed the revised rates will be charged on an immediate basis from Saturday.
