Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden, during which they discussed key global issues. PM Modi briefed Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterated India's commitment to supporting a swift return to peace and stability in the region. The discussion also covered the situation in Bangladesh, with both leaders emphasising the importance of restoring normalcy and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, particularly Hindus.

"We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability," PM Modi wrote on X.
"We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh," the prime minister added.

During their phone conversation, PM Modi and Biden reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing multilateral cooperation, particularly within the Quad framework. Both leaders emphasised that the India-US partnership is aimed to benefit not only the people of their respective countries but also humanity as a whole, according to the statement.
