Indian Army jawan Gurpreet Singh and his partner Sahil Masih, who were arrested for spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, had allegedly received Rs 2 lakh in the last two months through online transfer. The amount was initially sent to Singh’s account, which he later transferred to Masih’s account, Jagran.com reported citing the police probe in the case.

As per the officials, Gurpreet had sent information about many military bases to ISI during Operation Sindoor.

Both the accused will be produced in the court after their two-day police remand expired on Tuesday. They are currently lodged in Fatehpur jail.

SSP Maninder Singh said that the investigation has revealed that apart from Jammu, Gurpreet has also done his duty in Delhi Cantt and Meerut Cantt. The police suspect that he was in contact with ISI agent Rana Javed for a long time. He has given information about many military bases in Jammu as well as Delhi, Meerut and Punjab to ISI through Javed.

Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Dhaliwal in Jalandhar, came in contact with Rana Javed through a drug smuggler named Arjan, who is currently living in Dubai. The police said a Look Out Circular (LOC) will soon be issued for Arjan.

The father of the arrested Gurpreet Singh is a sevadar in the Gurudwara Sahib of the village.

Several other security agencies have also been involved in the probe owing to the seriousness of the case. Gurpreet and Sahil were questioned at the Joint Interrogation Centre. The agencies suspect the due can be part of a large network working against India.
