In a shocking incident, a woman and her lover have been arrested for the cold-blooded murder of her husband, whose body was buried in a farmland pit in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district.
The gruesome crime took place in Gobichettipalayam town, and came to light in the Elur area when locals noticed something unusual while passing a farmland, a man’s leg was sticking out from the soil. Horrified by the discovery, they immediately alerted the police.
Police officials rushed to the spot and digged up a decomposed body wrapped in a plastic sheet. According to News18 reports, forensic experts were called in, and a preliminary autopsy at the site revealed that the man had died from a blunt-force head injury before being quickly buried.
The deceased was identified as Chinnaraj, a local resident of Elur. Police began their investigation by questioning his wife, Ammaasi.
During the initial questioning, Ammaasi claimed that her husband had been missing for days and insisted that she and her family had been searching for him. However, her dramatic behavior and inconsistent statements raised suspicions. Detectives, convinced she was hiding something, intensified their interrogation.

Why Did Wife Kill Her Husband?
As the questioning began, Ammaasi’s story began to unravel. Investigators discovered that she had been involved in a two-year-long illicit affair with her relative, Maadhesh. When her husband Chinnaraj found out, he had warned her to end the relationship. But instead of breaking it off, Ammaasi and Maadhesh allegedly made a plan to eliminate him.
According to the police, Maadhesh struck Chinnaraj with a crowbar, killing him on the spot. The duo then wrapped the body in plastic, dug a pit in the farmland, and buried him hoping the crime would remain hidden.
Both Accused Arrested
However, after Ammaasi broke down during interrogation, both she and Maadhesh were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police described the murder as "premeditated and ruthless," with every step meticulously planned to kill the victim and cover up the crime.
This case adds to a growing list of high-profile murder investigations involving spouses and illicit relationships. Like the recent incident in high-profile murder of Raja Raghuvanshi where a wife and her lover brutally killed her husband and tried to hide the crime.
