As the Twisha Sharma death case intensifies, the Bhopal central jail authorities have tightened security for accused Samarth Singh and former judge Giribala Singh. At least 12 security officials have been assigned to monitor the two.
Additionally, the CCTV cameras are also being scanned regularly to monitor their activities in the prison cell all day. On 12 May, former model and actress Twisha Sharma allegedly died by suicide at her in-laws' house in Bhopal.
Samarth Singh was initially kept under special surveillance; however, he was shifted to a general barrack on Friday morning. His security remained the same. Five guards have been assigned special duty to monitor Samarth's activities. Seven female guards have been deployed to protect Giribala Singh, who is currently imprisoned in the women's prison.
Additional cameras have been installed outside and around the hospital ward of the women's cell, with the help of which 24-hour monitoring is being done.
Officials said Giribala delivered verdicts in several high-profile cases during her judicial tenure. Of the approximately 60 such convicted prisoners, 29 are currently lodged in the same jail. Therefore, the prison management is closely monitoring the activities of these prisoners to prevent any untoward incidents.
CBI Is Waiting For Postmortem Report
The Central Bureau of Investigation has sent Twisha's dead body's post-mortem report. Forensic reports and social media would be re-scanned by the investigation team. According to Jagran, a questionnaire will be prepared after jotting up all these findings. The chargesheet will be made accordingly.
Twisha Sharma (33) was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Her maternal family claimed that their daughter was going through depression and that her in-laws were repeatedly harassing her and demanding dowry. As the case gained attention, investigators discovered that Giribala and Samarth were not transparent with their statements. The CBI has since taken over the case and is investigating it.
