Uttarakhand Weather Update: Uttarakhand has experienced dry weather for the past week, with temperatures soaring due to bright sunshine across the mountains and plains. Tuesday marked the hottest day of the season in Dehradun (Doon), with the mercury crossing 39 degrees Celsius for the first time this year. Several plain areas witnessed temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius.

Respite from the heat is anticipated starting today. The Meteorological Department forecasts partial cloud cover in mountainous regions, accompanied by heavy showers and thunderstorms. Furthermore, a sequence of rain is expected to intensify across the state from Wednesday.

Uttarakhand Weather Forecast

According to the latest weather forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dehradun, the weather conditions in isolated regions of the state are likely to change from Wednesday as showers are expected during pre-monsoon. The monsoon season is expected to enter the state on June 15, bringing heavy rains to the state. The weather department has issued a yellow alert from June 11 to June 15. 

The weather department has expressed the possibility of rain in parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh on Wednesday. Light rain accompanied by lightning is predicted in isolated parts of Dehradun, Rudraprayaga, Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar. A yellow alert has been placed in all these districts. 

The possibility of a partially cloudy sky and light rain has been expressed in Chardham as well.
