Sleeper Vande Bharat Express: The first-ever Vande Bharat Express train with sleeper coaches will run between Agra and Gorakhpur. The North Eastern Railway has prepared a detailed plan for the commencement of train services, with a potential stop at Tundla railway station. As per the proposal, Agra Fort-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat will run six days a week.
The train travelling from Agra Fort to Gorakhpur will cover the distance between the two destinations within 13 hours. Train number 22584 will leave Agra Fort railway station at 5 am and reach Gorakhpur at 7 pm. Meanwhile, Gorakhpur-Agra Vande Bharat Express (train number 22583) will leave from Gorakhpur at 7 pm and reach Agra Fort at 5 am, a railway official said while adding that approval for time table is still awaited.
Shri Krishna Gautam, member of the Railway Advisory Committee in NER, said that the proposal has been prepared with the approval of the General Manager of North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur. He added that the timetable of the train will be discussed in the meeting of the Indian Railway Time Table Committee, which is scheduled to be held in Jaipur from 10 to 12 April.
Meanwhile, the North Eastern Railways announced proposals for a new train service connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar to several cities in Purvanchal (east Uttar Pradesh). The proposed weekly train service, numbered 15067/15068, will directly link Gorakhpur to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, with further plans to extend the service to Srinagar upon the completion of a new railway line currently under construction.
