Ahmedabad News: A woman shared her troubling experience on X, alleging sexual harassment involving a Zomato delivery agent. In a post on X, she described an incident that occurred late Tuesday night while she was waiting for a coffee delivery during heavy rain in Ahmedabad.
She stated that although the delivery was delayed, she understood the circumstances and didn’t mind waiting. However, she felt uncomfortable when the delivery partner, identified as Shwetang Joshi, repeatedly apologised for the delay while smiling.
The woman further recounted that Joshi mentioned an injury he had sustained, pointing to his foot. When she shone her flashlight on his feet, she claimed to have discovered that his genitals were exposed. She alleged that he laughed and mockingly asked for her help, saying, “Mam, please help krdo (Please help me).”
After the incident, she reported the matter to Zomato, but she found their response distressing. According to her, a representative on the call stated that they would need to hear from both sides, meaning herself and the delivery partner. The woman expressed her frustration, stating, “Who in their right mind would contact Zomato customer care at 1 AM in the morning? I just wanted immediate action, not to wait for further notice.”

She further expressed her concerns about safety when ordering food, stating, “I haven't received a call back from Zomato, which makes me think how unsafe it is to even order food in emergencies. Shame on you and your 'ethics' of delivering safely.”
The woman revealed that she felt "traumatised and infuriated," noting that many women face similar situations regularly but often do not speak out.

In a later update, she mentioned that Zomato eventually contacted her and took appropriate measures. The company confirmed that the delivery driver had been terminated and his licence revoked. However, she still felt unsafe despite these actions.
“I won’t say I feel safe now; I still feel unsafe, but they did what they could,” she said. She admitted to being “paranoid” about the possibility of the driver returning to her address but felt some reassurance from having legal support.
