Mumbai News: Uber has announced a partnership with Mumbai Indians to offer complimentary shuttle services for fans attending home matches at Wankhede Stadium in Churchgate. This initiative, which begins on Monday, aims to enhance the match-day experience for fans while alleviating traffic congestion in and around the stadium.

On match days, ten Uber Shuttle buses will operate between Bandra-Kurla Complex and Wankhede Stadium before each game. Return routes will service Bandra, Worli and BKC, helping fans navigate traffic and avoid parking hassles, as well as the stress of last-minute ride bookings.

In addition to the shuttle service, Uber will introduce match-day promo codes that provide discounts on car rides to and from the stadium. This effort encourages fans to choose shared mobility over private vehicles.

Snehashish Nag, Head of Strategy for Uber Shuttle, stated, “Uber Shuttle brings the reliability of Uber to buses. As Mumbai Indians’ mobility partner, this service offers fans a convenient way to travel while easing traffic congestion. We aim to make match days more accessible for MI supporters.”

To book their free shuttle rides, fans can use the Uber app by entering Wankhede Stadium as their destination. After selecting the Shuttle icon, they can choose a preferred time slot and confirm their booking. The service guarantees an air-conditioned ride with reserved seating, ensuring no standing passengers.

The pre-match shuttles will run from the MMRDA Ground Parking (opposite Metropolitan, BKC) to Wankhede Stadium. Post-match, return services will be available from near Cooperage Bandstand to Haji Ali, Phoenix Palladium and BKC.

Please note that seats for the shuttle services are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The Uber Shuttle buses, already operational in Delhi and Kolkata, are being trialled in Mumbai as a daily commuting option, featuring air conditioning, reserved seating, cashless payments, and in-app safety features, including a 24×7 Safety Line.
