Pune News: Pune Airport will increase its international flight offerings to five, with the launch of a new Pune-Bangkok connection from December 20. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, announced this development on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
Mohol wrote, “I am pleased to share that we will commence one more Pune-Bangkok-Pune connection from December 20, 2024. This adds to our existing routes, which include two flights to Dubai, two to Bangkok and one to Singapore.”

Last month, Santosh Dhoke, Director of Pune Airport, mentioned that the flight schedule was adjusted to attract more passengers and improve awareness of the new services. He highlighted a previous situation where a different airline had to suspend its Bangkok flights due to low occupancy. “To prevent this from happening again, the airline has revised its schedule,” Dhoke explained.
According to a Indian Express report, the new flight to Bangkok will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Pune at 11:10 PM and arriving at 4:45 AM. The return flights from Bangkok to Pune will be on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving at 1:15 AM and landing at 4:15 AM.
In other news, Pune International Airport has shown slight improvement in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) rankings, moving from 76th place in the second quarter (April-June) to 74th in the third quarter (July-September) of 2024.
The airport has improved in several areas, including access, terminal navigation, and walking distances. However, it experienced declines in three categories, value for money in transport options, waiting times at border control, and ease of connecting flights. This mixed feedback indicates ongoing efforts to enhance the passenger experience at Pune Airport.
