Premier League Standings: Manchester City reduced the gap with table toppers Arsenal with an incredible 4-0 win over rivals Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in the ongoing Premier League 2025-26 on Sunday. This was their seventh win in 11 games as they jumped to the second spot and are just four points behind the Gunners.
Having already witnessed so many ups and downs during their campaign so far, City have 22 points under their belt and are very much back in the Premier League title race. Despite Erling Haaland missing a penalty early in the game, the hosts outclassed the defending champions Liverpool, who stand in the eighth position. Haaland found the back of the net in the 29th minute before Nico Gonzalez extended the lead at halftime.
The Blues continued their domination in the game and sealed the deal through Jeremy Doku's goal in the 63rd minute.
Chelsea, who got the better of Wolves at home by a 3-0 win, are placed third in the Premier League points table with six wins after 11 matches. Surprisingly, Sunderland continues at fourth position, whereas Tottenham Hotspur complete the top five. Tottenham played out a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at home. The Red Devils have witnessed a promising form over the past few weeks and are placed seventh on the back of five wins.
In the other games played in the Premier League on Sunday, Aston thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 at home, whereas Brentford got the better of Newcastle, beating them 3-1.
