Meta, a popular social media giant is all set to introduce the Twitter Rival called Threads on Thursday, soon after Twitter has restricted the post reads. This came after Apple’s App Store Data in the US suggests that the application is said to launch on July 6 and will be available for users to download, says a New York Times report.
Just like other social media platforms, Threads will also be linked to Instagram which may give it an edge over Twitter as it will be able to directly import the information from the photo-sharing platform which means the users will have Instagram users added to the platform and they need not to build their profile from scratch, says a report by TechCrunch.
"Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what will be trending tomorrow," said the App Store description.
"In order to share your thoughts, opinions, and creativity with the world, you may either develop a devoted following of your own or follow and interact with your favourite creators and those who share your interests," it added.
According to the report, Threads is closely tied to other Meta-owned sites, and the platform might receive plenty of features that are very comparable to those on Musk's Twitter. It might have functions like like, share, remark, repost, and others with an interface quite similar to Twitter. Further, the report suggests, the app aims to unite groups around conversations about diverse topics and connections with preferred creators.
Meanwhile, Users will only be able to see a certain number of tweets due to limitations Twitter has placed on post readings. The daily post caps have been increased to 10,000 for verified users, 1,000 for unverified users, and 500 for newly created unverified accounts.
Additionally, the business has stated that users of TweetDeck must have verified profiles in order to utilise the service. According to the Tweet, the modification will take effect after 30 days.
Due to these restrictions, the users are migrating to other platforms like Mastodon which may give an edge to Threads as well.
