Samsung has apparently begun pushing the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update for the Galaxy S25 series in India with a new batch of fixes and improvements ahead of the stable release. The update brings lots of system stability and performance fixing and addresses bugs that were found in the first beta version reported by the users. Samsung brought out the One UI 8.5 beta programme for the Galaxy S25 series earlier this month and the new beta now takes care of some of the more invasive annoyances.

User reports also claim the update has landed in some European markets—meaning a broader, unspecified phased rollout seems to be underway for beta testers.

One UI 8.5 Beta 2 rollout details

According to reports on the Samsung Community Forum and X, One UI 8.5 Beta 2 is now available for Galaxy S25 series owners in India, as well as in other participating nations like Germany and Poland. The update is open to a limited number of users participating in the beta programme who have enrolled through the Samsung Members app and own compatible Galaxy S25 devices.

The reported firmware version goes by the build name ZYLH and is more about refining what’s already there based on feedback from those who have had access to Beta 1 early.

Key fixes and improvements in One UI 8.5 Beta 2

The update fixes a number of known problems, as per the official changelog and reports from users. Among the most critical is a fix for the intermittent rebooting associated with users on the first beta. Samsung has also fixed some slowdown in hardware response, including a cloggery bug wherein the volume-up button would fail to function under leash conditions.

The update resolves the problem with resetting of Quick Panel settings after reboot and fixes some icon spacing/alignment on the Quick Panel menu. Another visual bug with Gallery group folders being pushed back into the first album page has been fixed.

Exclusion performance has also gained enhancements. The “More View” menu became stuttery to users when they tapped it during calls, and this has been fixed. Samsung has also addressed forced closures that were impacting a number of third-party apps, so better app stability during daily use will be another benefit users should receive from this update – and it's good to see it going out relatively soon.

Optimisations for the camera system and a number of system apps have also been applied, while this is simply stabilisation work as Samsung homes in on a final release.

How to get the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update

Those who would like to test out One UI 8.5 Beta 2 will need to sign up for the beta programme via the Samsung Members app. The update is now available for download from Settings > Software Update on compatible Galaxy S25 models.
