Vodafone Idea (Vi) has teamed up with Spotify to add a new entertainment benefit for its postpaid customers in India. Under the partnership announced on Friday, eligible subscribers on select Vi Individual and Family Postpaid plans can claim three months of Spotify Premium at no extra cost.

The offer is available from today for both new and existing eligible postpaid users. To redeem it, customers need to open the Vi app and activate the benefit. However, the complimentary membership is only available to users who have never subscribed to Spotify Premium before.

With Spotify Premium, users can stream music without ads, download songs for offline listening and switch to higher-quality audio. The subscription also removes shuffle-only playback, allowing tracks to be played in any order, while features such as listening insights and queue management are also included.

Speaking about the collaboration, Vi Chief Marketing Officer Avneesh Khosla said, "By combining forces with Spotify, we are offering an unmatched content mix that makes Vi the top choice for subscribers."

Eligible Vi Postpaid Plans

The three-month Spotify Premium membership is bundled with Vi Individual Postpaid plans priced at Rs. 451, Rs. 551, Rs. 751 and Rs. 1,201 (REDX).

The benefit is also available on Family Postpaid plans priced at Rs. 701, Rs. 751, Rs. 871, Rs. 1,201, Rs. 1,301, Rs. 1,401, Rs. 1,526 and Rs. 1,601 (REDX Family). On these plans, only the primary account holder can claim the Spotify Premium subscription.

Subscription After The Promotional Period

Even if the complimentary three-month plan period comes to its end, users can still continue using Spotify Premium through Vi's Add to Bill service. The subscription is priced at Rs. 139 per month, with the amount added directly to the user's monthly postpaid bill.

The partnership is part of Vi's broader effort to strengthen its postpaid offerings by adding premium digital services. At the same time, Spotify users on eligible plans get access to the platform's premium experience, including its catalogue of more than 100 million songs, offline playback and improved audio quality, without paying separately during the promotional period.
