Windows 11 is quietly turning into the cross-device hub people have wanted for years, and the latest Insider Preview Build 26220.7271 might be the strongest sign of that shift. The update introduces a resume-from-phone feature that lets you pick up your Android activity directly on your PC — not in a clunky or limited way, but in a smooth handoff that makes your laptop feel like a true extension of your phone. For anyone who constantly switches screens during the day, this changes the rhythm of how they work.

Microsoft has experimented with continuity before, but this time the execution feels natural. M365 Copilot is the centrepiece of the Windows 11 PC upgrade: when you open an online Word, Excel or PowerPoint file on your phone, Windows 11 PCs are instantly able to reopen that same document – either through full desktop applications or a browser. Local files stay put, but cloud documents move seamlessly across devices.

Device support currently extends to Samsung, Honour, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo devices. Vivo users enjoy an extra perk: while browsing in Vivo Browser on their phone, Windows will provide a taskbar prompt that lets you open that same page on PC with one click – an excellent complement to Spotify's earlier handoff support and providing three smooth phone-to-PC transitions!
Copilot inside Edge gets smarter
Microsoft is also expanding Copilot’s role inside Edge. The assistant now works as a shopping companion, offering price comparisons, price history, cashback alerts and product insights inside the browser sidebar. Copilot can even notify you proactively when a better deal appears on another site.
