A major tragedy was averted late Friday night in the Dankaur Kotwali area when a moving car suddenly caught fire and was subsequently reduced to ashes. The three occupants of the vehicle managed to save their lives by jumping out moments before the fire intensified.

The Incident

The incident occurred near the Ajnara roundabout.

The Occupants: Devendra, a resident of Bulandshahr, along with two companions, was returning from his farmhouse in Atta Fatehpur village.

The Escape: As they reached the roundabout, smoke suddenly started billowing from the vehicle. Sensing the immediate danger, all three individuals abandoned the car and jumped to safety.

Explosion And Destruction

Within moments of the occupants escaping, the fire intensified, engulfing the entire vehicle.

CNG Blast: According to eyewitnesses, the situation escalated when the car's CNG cylinder exploded due to the heat. The explosion caused panic in the area, though fortunately, it did not result in any loss of life.

Damage: The vehicle was completely burnt and reduced to ashes before the flames could be doused.

Official Response And Investigation

Upon receiving the alert, a fire brigade team rushed to the scene. After considerable effort, they managed to bring the fire under control, but the car was already destroyed.

Police Statement: Dankaur Kotwali Inspector-in-charge, Munendra Singh, confirmed that the police reached the spot immediately to begin an investigation.

Cause: Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit was the likely cause of the fire.
