Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) has announced a special research grant policy aimed at promoting high-quality, globally competitive research. The scheme, effective from September 5, will provide Rs 2 lakh to eligible faculty members under the age of 45, based on their Scopus-indexed research work.

Vice Chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak announced during the Academic Council meeting on Wednesday, calling the initiative “a commitment to building a strong research culture, recognising excellence, and aligning faculty contributions with global standards.”

No application process will be required; the grant will be awarded automatically to faculty who have published at least three papers in indexed journals in the previous academic year, with at least one as the first or corresponding author. Eligible candidates must be engaged in active research and free from any ongoing disciplinary proceedings.

Strict guidelines have been laid down — research published in clone, predatory, or fake journals, or papers withdrawn due to ethical violations, will lead to disqualification for three years.
